Respond to briefs

Apply to buyer requests and submit offers for custom data work on the Datavendor marketplace.

New to briefs? Read What are briefs for the overview — lifecycle, how they differ from listings, and how offers become projects.

Vendor access

Responding to briefs requires Tier 2+ vendor access. After Tier 1 listing capability, request a tier upgrade and sign the HUD NDA to unlock Project briefs at /briefs.

Tier 1 vendors still see briefs in navigation — the page renders a briefs access gate rather than hiding the route.

The apply flow

  1. Browse Project briefs — a job-board list showing title, budget, build window, and an Apply action
  2. Open brief detail — full requirements and terms
  3. Submit offer — your priced response; the buyer sees you as an applicant

When a buyer accepts your offer, a project begins. One open brief can spawn multiple parallel projects if the buyer accepts several applicants.

Supply-first vs demand-first

Publish a listing is supply-first: you list what you have. Respond to briefs is demand-first: buyers define the work and you tailor an offer. Many vendors use both paths.
